Vicenza’s Museums for Youth

Future Moves introduces contemporary dance practices in museums, based on improvisation and instant composition techniques, to groups of teenagers.

This project facilitates a dialogue between art, health and society, starting from the generative and transformative capacities of dance, offering young participants tools and skills to face the challenges and critical issues that often accompany growth. The project is aimed at engaging mixed groups of teenagers, some of them living with psychological fragility and depression. It invites them to take part in dance practices held in museums, to co-design the interactions and dialogues with the artistic heritage, and to co-create dance itineraries/guided tours of museums, open to the public.

Classes are held weekly at the Palazzo Chiericati Museum, on Wednesdays from 4.30 pm to 5.30 pm.

From May 7, 2025, the city’s civic museums opened the doors of their most beautiful rooms to welcome young people and dance, placing the body in motion at the centre of new forms of immersive dialogue with the artworks on display.
