On 27 June, from 3pm to 6pm, the Palazzo del Monte di Pietà in Vicenza (entrance from Contrà delle Morette 17) will host a new choreographic itinerary created by the young participants of Future Moves, the project dedicated to adolescents that weaves together contemporary dance, wellbeing and cultural heritage.
The performance action, entitled Living Allegories, is free and open to the public upon reservation. It is inspired by the theme of allegories of virtue, the guiding thread that has led the Movers over recent months through an artistic and human journey across some of the most significant places in the city and the country.
This event marks the third stage of a journey that began on 5 December 2025 at Castel Sant’Angelo in Rome, where the young participants presented a series of choreographic actions in dialogue with the allegories of virtue depicted in the Sala Paolina. The project then continued on 29 April in the Sala delle Virtù of Palazzo Chiericati, on the occasion of International Dance Day.
With the event on 27 June, the virtues once again take shape through movement, this time within the spaces of the Palazzo del Monte di Pietà in Vicenza, an emblematic site in the city’s social and cultural history. The young Future Movers will present short choreographic actions developed through improvisation, listening and instant composition practices, guided by the artistic team of e20danza. The performances will invite the audience to discover the frescoes in one of the Palace’s rooms.
The initiative forms part of the broader Future Moves programme, promoted by e20danza, the Municipality of Vicenza and the Civic Museums, in collaboration with ULSS 8 Berica, Rete Nolimita‑c‑tions, Casa di Cultura Popolare and Palazzo del Monte SRL, and supported by Fondazione Cariverona, Fondazione Roi and Fondazione Monte di Pietà di Vicenza. The project involves adolescents from diverse backgrounds, with particular attention to those experiencing psychological vulnerability, offering them a safe space for expression, connection and personal growth.
The choreographic itinerary of 27 June represents a further step in the dialogue between dance and heritage, confirming the ability of the young Movers to inhabit museum spaces with courage and creativity, and to offer the public a fresh perspective on works that span both history and the present.
