“FUTURE MOVES” MEETS HARARI IN VICENZA
On the occasion of the exhibition Guido Harari. Incontri by the renowned photographer, two special sessions curated by choreographer Chiara Frigo for Future Moves will take place on 23 and 24 May in the Basilica Palladiana. Future Moves is a dance practice designed for adolescents experiencing forms of vulnerability.
Future Moves, a project inviting groups of young people to dance in dialogue with artworks and the imaginative worlds of Vicenza’s museums, will inhabit the exhibition Guido Harari. Incontri in the Basilica Palladiana with an event curated by choreographer Chiara Frigo together with a group of participants from the Future Moves classes. The sessions will be held on 23 May from 3 pm to 6 pm and on 24 May from 10 am to 1 pm, accessible with the purchase of an exhibition ticket (advance booking recommended at futuremoves@e20danza.art).
Created to support the wellbeing of adolescents—particularly those experiencing psychological fragility—Future Moves highlights the generative and transformative power of dance, improving psychophysical health and reshaping young people’s relationship with the museum. Active for over a year in several historic municipal buildings, it has already delivered more than 50 dance sessions and numerous special events in the museums of Vicenza and at Castel Sant’Angelo in Rome. On this occasion, the young dancers will move through the rooms of Guido Harari. Incontri, the exhibition celebrating fifty years of the celebrated photographer’s career. A photographer who has turned photography into a tool for connection, building an archive of encounters across music, culture, science and humanity.
It is precisely the presence of great rock stars and iconic figures that inspires Chiara Frigo’s choreographic pathway for the Future Movers: each young dancer has chosen a portrait and created a solo that blends the subject’s story with their own, in a layering that transforms each performer into a pop icon. Some of the solos, scattered throughout the exhibition rooms, will last the length of a song, shared with a single spectator through headphones. Connected by the headphones, performers and spectators give life to intimate encounters, where each brief exchange becomes a unique and personal interaction. Choreographer and performer, and co-director of Zebra Cultural Zoo, Chiara Frigo develops her research around the relationship between art and science, exploring diverse dance languages and new communities. She will debut a large-scale community project at the Tanztriennale in Hamburg in June 2026.
This is yet another special event for the adolescents of Future Moves, made possible thanks to the support of the Museums of Vicenza and the City. Future Moves is an initiative promoted by the Municipality and the Museums of Vicenza and delivered by the cultural association e20danza in collaboration with ULSS8 Berica, Rete Nolimita‑c‑tions, Casa di Cultura Popolare and Palazzo del Monte SRL, with the support of Fondazione Cariverona, Fondazione Giuseppe Roi of Vicenza and Fondazione Monte di Pietà. The event on 23 and 24 May is also part of the project Future Moves: professionalisation of young artists by Zebra Cultural Zoo, supported by the Ministry of Culture and SIAE within the programme Per Chi Crea.
The exhibition Incontri is organised by the Municipality of Vicenza, the Civic Museums of Vicenza and the Basilica Palladiana, in collaboration with Rjma progetti culturali and Wall of Sound Gallery.
