COSSACHKA Performance, MC6 Creative Residency and Cultural Association e20danza Launch a Psycho-Emotional Recovery Programme for Ukrainian Women Through Dance
The project introduces a specialised format of the “Vidnova Spilno-to-you” programme, an ongoing initiative that has been running since 2023 by MC6 Creative Residency in Slavsko, Ukraine, focusing on psycho-emotional support and reintegration of Ukrainian veterans.
The July 2026 iteration is fully dedicated to working with women navigating diverse lived experiences of war. The target group includes female defenders, internally displaced persons (IDPs), residents of frontline areas and women caregiving for wounded family members.
This edition is built on a transnational collaboration between Ukrainian and European organisations. The artistic framework and practical execution are co-developed by the team of the dance performance COSSACHKA (Ukraine), non-profit organisation Part.ua e.V (Germany), NGO “Educational Cultural Foundation MC6” (Ukraine), and the Cultural Association e20danza (Italy), which specialises in dance practices as tools for social change, community care and cultural welfare.
The programme operates at the intersection of contemporary dance, somatic exploration, improvisation and vocal work. Utilising movement as a non-verbal tool for connection and processing, the initiative aims to:
- Establish an inclusive, safe space for articulating and transforming complex psychological experiences.
- Alleviate social isolation and restore a sense of individual agency and internal stability.
- Foster long-term social ties and solidarity among women from various background contexts.
The structure balances direct community-engaged work with an open educational format:
- In-person Lab in Ukraine: Movement workshops, individual and group therapy sessions, culminating in an open-air performance co-created with the residency participants.
- Knowledge Exchange Platform: 4 public online sessions tailored for dance practitioners, choreographers, therapists and the Ukrainian diaspora in the EU, exploring artistic methodologies for addressing trauma, conflict and social isolation.
